About Gencarelli’s Bakery – A Family Tradition Since 1975

Gencarelli’s Bakery is a family-owned, family-operated bakery, established in 1975 by Rosaria and Ernesto Gencarelli in Bloomfield, NJ. They began in a tiny store front making only bread. After his high school graduation, Nick Gencarelli joined the family business and elevated the Gencarelli name to be synonymous with great Italian bread as well as wonderful pastries, cakes, and donuts.

Ever since then, a Gencarelli has been in our bakeries. As Rocco, Deanna, and Vincent each graduated from college, they joined the business, continuing to take care of our growing establishment. As our many loyal customers know, we take tremendous pride and care in producing every cake, pastry and loaf of bread as if we were serving it to our own family members.

As our reputation grew, so did Gencarelli’s Bakery; we moved to a larger store in Bloomfield and in 2000 we opened our Wayne, NJ location. Our family members are always there to serve our customers and ensure that our high standard of quality is baked into everything we make.

Both Gencarelli’s Bakery locations are open every day of the year except New Year’s Day.
